Vivien Ruth (Truax) Johnson

Vivien Ruth Johnson, 74, of Zanesville, Ohio passed away at 11:15 AM, Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in Columbus following an extended illness.
She was born March 24,1943 in Columbus, the daughter of the late Philip and Agnes (McArdle) Truax.
Vivien had worked nearly 40 years for Good Samaritan Hospital and, later, Genesis, in the labor and delivery department. In the early 1960's, she served in the US Navy in the WAVES (Womens' Accepted Voluntary Emergency Service) at the San Diego Naval Hospital during the early years of the Vietnam War. She enjoyed going to yard sales with family and volunteering and serving at her church, Rolling Plains United Methodist Church in South Zanesville.
Vivien is survived by her daughters, Christina Johnson and Lisa Johnson, both of Zanesville and her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Carol Truax of Crooksville.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Fontelle Truax, Martha Joan Williams and Sara Eileen Willoughby and her brother, Philip Henry Truax, Jr.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Rolling Plains United Methodist Church, 3350 Moxahala Park Rd., Zanesville, OH 43701 with Pat Wiseman-Jones officiating. A luncheon will follow.
Memorial contributions may be made in Vivien's name to the Bethel Community Center, 126 Ontario St., Zanesville. Envelopes will be available at the memorial service.
