Wayne E. "Papaw" McLean, 61, of Roseville passed away at 1:37 PM, Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville after a two year battle with cancer.

He was born February 14, 1950 in Zanesville, the son of the late Gerald McLean and Evelyn Rosser McLean of Roseville.

Wayne was retired from Frye Trenching in Newark where had worked as a mechanic. He was a veteran of the US Navy in which he had served during the Vietnam Era. Wayne was a member of American Legion Post 71 in Roseville. He was an avid Harley rider and was responsible for starting the American Legion Riders in Roseville. Mr. McLean was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his mother, Wayne is survived by his wife of thirteen years, Cindy Grandon McLean; his daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Joe Grimm, Heather(Kalob McHenry)Grandon all of Roseville and Hilary and Dennis Keller of Corning; his son, Shane and Angie McLean of Roseville; his grandchildren, Haley and Zachary McLean, Brianna Renner and Madysen Grimm, Collin and Chloe Lykins all of Roseville, Austin, Andrew, Abigail and Amarie Keller of Corning; his sister, Vicki(Mike)Dorsey of Roseville; his brothers, David(Hetty) McLean of Vero Beach, Florida, Jerry(Shirley)McLean and Jeff(Lucy) McLean all of Roseville and his faithful dog, Blackie.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sheila Ault McLean who passed away June 27, 1996 and his infant son, Scott McLean.

The McLean family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Saturday, February 19 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE where funeral services and a celebration of Wayne's life will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, February 20 with Stan McHenry officiating. Burial will follow in Iliff Cemetery at McLuney with full military honors. A potluck will be held for the family and friends following the burial at the American Legion Post, Main St., Roseville.
