Wesley Garrettson Logan Worthington, 51, of Zanesville, Ohio, formerly of Crooksville passed away at 5:25 PM, Friday, November 10, 2023 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident on St. Rt. 16.
He was born May 22, 1972 in Zanesville, the first son of Stephen Worthington and Sharon (nee: Adams) Worthington, both of Crooksville.
Garrett’s lifetime career was as a heavy equipment operator, being employed at IGEL Construction, working on the new Google and Intel site. He was a member of Peerless Lodge 591 F & A M of Crooksville.
Garrett was known for his sense of humor and he had an infectious laugh. Outside of work, he was an avid hunter that enjoyed hunting for deer and turkey. He especially enjoyed hunting with his Papaw Cyril, brother, Nate and niece, Hannah. Being close to nature was his favorite place to be. Along with hunting, he enjoyed riding his Harley and he was a huge Ohio State fan who never missed a game. Garrett played football for Crooksville High School where the love of the game began. He was a member of Peerless Lodge 591 F. & A.M.
He will be missed by his loving fiancee, Amber Patton; his loving mother, Sharon Worthington; his father and step-mother, Stephen and Sandy Worthington; his grandfather, Cyril Adams,; his brother and fiancee, Nathan Worthington (Amanda Riehl); his niece, Hannah Worthington; aunt, Gail Garland; special cousins, Joshua (Jill) Jones and Marisa Jones and his children, Anelia, Dalton, Bain and Cade.
Garrett was preceded in death by his grandparents, Janice Adams, Sam and Evangeline Worthington.
Family and friends may visit to pay respects 3-7 PM, Friday, November 17, 2023 and 12-1 PM, Saturday, Nov. 18 at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville. Peerless Lodge 591 F. & A.M. will present Masonic Services at 7 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Emory Clark as celebrant. Ohio State apparel will be welcome. Garrett will be laid to rest near his grandparents in Crooksville Cemetery.
