William F. Dennis, 63, of Crooksville unexpectedly died at 5:47 AM, Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.
He was born on March 12, 1955 in Newark, the son of the late William and Bonnie (Inman) Dennis.
Bill retired from the Southeastern Correctional Complex in Lancaster as a corrections officer. During his years of retirement, Bill was employed and worked for the Do-It-Center in Maysville. In order to better serve his community and make a difference Bill served and was currently serving as a Crooksville Village Councilman. Bill along with his late wife Debbie, had a genuine soft spot for their fur children, and it was evident in their support and caretaking of their many pets, of which, Stein, Big Head, Willy and Ember precede them in death.
With his love of a furry face, Bill's family requests that memorial donations be made in Bill's name to the Perry County Animal Shelter, 1650 Commerce Drive, New Lexington, Ohio 43764.
He is survived in life by his loving daughter and son, Bobbie (Brian) Landerman of Mt. Perry and Sam (Stacie) Dennis of Thornville; his sisters and brothers, Ramona (Galen) Johnston of New Lexington, James (Debbie) Dennis of Lancaster and Joe (Joyce Epifano) Dennis of Crooksville and his grandchildren, Adam Landerman, Hannah (Lance Brown) Dennis, Sydney Dennis and Alexis 'Lexie' Dennis. Bill is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Diane Ratliff and Debbie Dennis; his brothers-in-law, Frank (Julie) Ratliff and Jeff (Wilma) Ratliff and his numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deborah (Ratliff) Dennis who died, December 8, 2016; his grandson, Lucas Dennis and his brother, George 'Pete' Dennis.
In keeping with Bill's wishes, he will be cremated and together with his wife's cremated remains, they will be interred in New Lexington Cemetery beside their grandson, Lucas.
