William Bernard Pompey, Jr., 67 of Corning, Ohio passed away at 4:00 AM, Sunday, November 30, 2014 at his residence.
Bill was born September 8, 1947 in Akron, the son of the late William B. and Janette Rodgers Pompey.
He was retired from the Higby Plant in New Lexington where he had worked as a supervisor. He was also a former employee of Superior Glass in Bremen. Bill served our country in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church in Corning and the Corning Legion Post 327.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Atheuth and James Paris of Crooksville and Amy and Joe Buchanan of Stockport; his brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Anita Pompey of Crooksville and his four grandchildren, Kristen, Brett and Michelle Hazlett and Joshua Mayle.
Family and friends will be received 4:00-8:00 PM, Monday, December 1 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 2 at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church, 425 Adams St., Corning with Father John Reade as celebrant. Burial will follow in Millertown Cemetery with full military honors.
