Wilma M. Crowley, 89, of Roseville, Ohio joined her high school sweetheart of 67 years in eternal life on Sunday, August 1st, 2021 at Infinity Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was born July 15, 1932 in Zanesville.
A military wife and mother of eight, Wilma was the sweetest woman you could ever know. She was a decorated volunteer in the Air Force’s Family Services Division, Military Mother of The Year in 1975, an adventurous Girl Scout leader, a volunteer at multiple schools that her children attended and was a PTA member for many years. After her husband’s retirement in 1980, they returned to their childhood home in Ohio where she became a Roseville, Ohio Garden Club member and then serving as President of the club, all while training to become a flower show judge. Wilma was active in Extraordinary Ministry at Church of The Atonement in Crooksville. Wilma and her husband received and distributed the Sacraments to the faithful and prayed to their Lord for inspiration and guidance. As a devoted member of her church, Wilma also served as co-chairperson for several of the church’s fundraisers including bingos and festival dinners. She also spent her time volunteering at numerous community activities such as Crooksville-Roseville Pottery Festivals, the Pottery Museum of Roseville and Genesis Hospital Gift Shop. She adored gardening and providing for the neighborhood cats. Among her hobbies was crocheting and knitting prayer shawls for local hospitals.
Wilma is survived by her children, Patricia Crowley, Susan Crowley, Carol (Raymond) Buehler, Bill Crowley, Donald Crowley, Anna (Joe) Black and Roberta (Derlin) Hennig; six grandchildren and multiple great and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry and her son, Larry, Jr.
